Inspiration
Recent developments in the metaverse and the potential to extend our lives beyond the ways we deem traditional. We believe that technology should be pushed and adopted to best reach its capabilities, and enhancing the workplace is a great way to do this.
What it does
LLM transformer model that takes technical pdfs and returns a summary Event scheduler and schedule interfaces for managing employees and their time 3D model frontend allowing employees to communicate freely and better understand the current tasks and activities both themselves and colleagues have scheduled.
How we built it
React frontend with react three-fiber for 3d modelling. Flask backend using socketIO. Also used an LLM transformer.
Challenges we ran into
Managing complex code with numerous abstract use cases presented a real challenge. Fine-tuning the LLM to meet our specific needs required significant adjustments, and coordinating on Git in a fast-paced team environment added to the complexity.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We implemented a fully working 3d model with interactive prompts and real time chat. We were also able to implement many different useful features whilst maintaining an intuitive interface. We believe we did a solid job of taking a very well rounded approach to the challenge.
What we learned
- Thorough preparation saves more time in the long run
- Communication in terms of aims will do much more than just writing code
What's next for Office.io
Implementing a metaverse like place where companies can set up their online environments. More interactivity in each element to make the virtual workplace both fun and productive. Server support for an entire office full of users concurrently Stronger authentication methods to make our application suitable for corporations
