Inspiration
Our inspiration stems from Surrealism (Magritte, Dalí, Jeffery Smart) and Corporate Dystopian themes (like Severance or The Truman Show). We wanted to use the clean, alienating aesthetic of a modern office space and disrupt it with objects of pure, irrational energy—the red cubic sculpture and flowing hair. This film is designed to make the familiar world of work feel unsettlingly strange, revealing the emotional chaos beneath the professional facade.
What it does
"Office Dream" is a high-impact film that generates immediate aesthetic and thematic questions for the audience.
It delivers a succession of carefully controlled, absurd vignettes tailored for social media attention hooks.
It uses striking colour and texture contrast (sharp suit vs. flowing hair) to communicate the theme of inner conflict.
It serves as a proof-of-concept for how AI-Powered Creativity can bring complex, psychological concepts to life without the need for traditional sets or actors.
How we built it
The film was constructed by our team of Space Cadet AI-Powered Creators using the same professional, multi-stage, interdisciplinary approach:
Visual Generation: We primarily used the advanced models MINIMAX and Hailuo AI for their known strength in generating realistic human movement and maintaining character consistency (the businessman). Kling was used for generating the complex, flowing texture of the red hair.
Audio Generation: The score was created using MusicFX, prompting for an unsettling, minimalist, and slightly discordant electronic track to match the film's surreal and suspenseful mood.
Assembly and Polish: All generated clips were imported into DaVinci Resolve for non-linear editing (NLE), sequencing, and professional colour correction to ensure the bold yellow, pink, and red fields remained hyper-saturated and consistent.
Challenges we ran into
Character Consistency: While MINIMAX/Hailuo are excellent, maintaining the identity of the businessman through multiple transitions and different poses required extensive, repetitive prompting and careful frame selection.
Complex Movement: The primary challenge was rendering the flowing, voluminous movement of the red hair/strands in a way that looked organic and physically convincing, especially when it interacted with the static cubic form.
Minimalist Scene Control: Controlling negative space and preventing the AI from cluttering the simple white walls and yellow floor required hyper-specific and sustained negative prompts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Thematic Clarity: Successfully conveying a psychological theme (corporate detachment vs. inner self) using only abstract objects and colour within a short-form format.
Aesthetic Punch: Achieving the precise, high-contrast, graphic aesthetic inspired by mid-20th century surrealist art and photography.
Technical Versatility: Demonstrating mastery of multiple high-end generative models (MINIMAX, Hailuo, Kling, MusicFX) in a single, polished piece mastered in DaVinci Resolve.
What we learned
We gained deep insight into using generative tools to manage symbolism and texture. The hair was treated almost as a separate animated character, requiring us to learn how to prompt for complex, non-rigid, fluid movement and consistent material properties across different scenes. This skill is invaluable for future conceptual projects in the AI-Powered Creative Industry.
What's next for Office Dream
The "Office Dream" film and its aesthetic will be expanded into a series of short conceptual pieces under the theme, Corporate Absurdity. The next planned submission will explore the psychological effects of infinite meetings, using a protagonist trapped in a continuous, illogical office loop defined by green and cyan.
