Inspiration

Sustainability can be daunting, but what if we could make it feel like an adventure? We wanted to create an app that makes eco-friendly habits engaging, rewarding, and accessible to everyone. Inspired by gamification, daily challenges, and the power of collective action, we built Odyssey—a 30-day interactive sustainability challenge.

What We Learned

How We Built It

Odyssey was developed using:

  • Flutter for a seamless cross-platform mobile experience.
  • Gemini LLM API to dynamically provide unique and engaging quests.
  • Gamified elements such as the scratch out system, confetti, story, and user-chosen twists to keep users engaged.

Challenges We Faced

  • Ensuring the app remains engaging while delivering meaningful sustainability lessons and challenges.
  • Making AI-generated challenges feel personalized, safe, and creative for all users.
