It's no secret that the Glennan Circuits Lab is one of the hot spots on CWRU's campus for hackers and their friends to hang out and get stuff done. However, nothing puts a damper on things quite walking 20 minutes to Glennan for what you think will be a fun building session only to discover that none of your pals are there after all. On the flip side, it's equally frustrating if you're looking for a quiet place to study and show up to a room full of rowdy engineers.

Therefore, the Glennan suite of apps was born. The Glennan apps take advantage of the webcams set up in the campus workspaces and display the feed to the user. Students, alumni, and faculty alike can use a Glennan app to investigate whether the current situation in the circuits lab suits their needs.

Introducing Oculus Glennan: Oculus Glennan provides a fun and immersive solution to campus space scheduling. Instead of viewing the image feed on their phone or computer, users now have the option to enter a full virtual observation deck using Oculus Rift. When he puts on the headset, he enters a simulated room full of televisions displaying the different views of the circuits lab. The user can move around the observation deck and watch the live feed on each of the "televisions".

Oculus Glennan features three views of the Circuits Lab; however, it is fully customizable to use any image feed. Though designed for the Glennan circuits lab, a user could easily configure the app to have a virtual observation room of any space she can videotape.
