Inspiration

I wanted a way to visualize activity on github. the result looking like its logo is a bonus.

What it does

every time the repo here gets a commit, star, or fork, octocat dances a little.

How I built it

Hardware: some arts and crafts supplies + Spark Core. Animatronics: the tentacles are straws with strings pulled by a servo in order to contract and extend. Software: Github webhooks, Firebase, Particle Cloud

Challenges I ran into

Getting the tentacles to move right; the servo was originally not strong enough to pull on the tentacles.

What's next for octocat

Get octocat to move without requiring the controller page to be open.
