Octi-Tasker

I would like all my Al Anqa and GTM students from remote and disadvantaged backgrounds to be able to access all educational tools in one place with this Multi-Tasking Octi-Tasker.

Inspiration

I was inspired by Octopus Multi-tasking. Project is also inspired by SheCodes and Technica website women empowering UX designs.

What it does?

It allows all students with lack of equal resources to use all tools like convertors, translators, calculators, and much more, all in one-place. I even have added tools I coded for my students in MyBoard's Tools besides a separate ToolBox which has embedded working widgets with the help of AI to assist students stay up-to-date with weather, worldclock, calendar, timers, zoom meets etc. as I teach internationally to students from remote areas. Zoom and digital whiteboard are added to enable enhanced collaboration and groupwork. Some Joke and poem-generators are coded and included by it as they are multi-lingual. This app has a translator too, currency-convertor, GPS, and travel agent AI. Additionally, there is some music (list of my favorite YT tracks) added to the app for kids to listen and enjoy.

How we built it

It is built with Thaura API, Gemni API, Backboard, Co-Pilot, GitHub, and Netlify. Additionally Canva was also used. YouTube could not capture most of my work due to long video, but a short was uploaded. YT has small short for advertising, but full demo is in my Portfolio Project 6 Octi-tasker. It has no voice, but I tried to show how it was built in one day, and how it appears now. Thank you for this opportunity.

Challenges we ran into

I worked alone on this project so embedding with the help of challenging, I could not embed gifs so I had to manually create a public link in Canva and showcase it in app as a link in the end where it says Aniqa's Ocean Gif Gallery, sadly, that's all I could do in limited hackathon time, but I will fix it one day for my students to understand that we can also multi-task like octopuses. Showed a sample image from Deepimg.ai image and added GenCraft AI and stable diffusion AI image-generators in the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I love octopus, space, UX, coding, and teaching, I am proud I was able to merge all my passions in this app for my students, who often are from remote areas with poor internet, need offline tools as this for greater accessibility and academic use. I am proud of making something human-centered in an AI Octi world. Thaura AI, GenCraft AI and StableDiffusion were ethical AI shared in this as they do not train on user data. The app is safe and does not leak any student data.

What we learned

I learned how much I could do in 24 hours of this hackathon to build, compile all these tools in one place.

What's next for Octi-Tasker

Octi-tasker aims to have Offline Zoom and Chat , AI features that won't rely on internet which is future direction of my research and innovations. These features need to work on LTD or cellular data in-case there is low-to no internet.
