Inspiration

Solo Law Practitioners and Small Law Firms have fewer resources to reach out to their audience, compared to big law firms. Struggling with visibility and proper marketing results in poor reception despite strong potential.

What it does

The Octafiles website enables clients to connect with Legal personnel through a transparent, jurisdiction-based bulletin board.

How we built it

By designing a marketplace framework with verification and booking requests in mind for legal assistance, using elements like React, Node.js, MongoDB, and Socket.io within Typescript to achieve our concept.

Challenges we ran into

Dealing with legalities and compliance issues due to the sensitivity of this project scope, we had to constantly monitor the dos and don'ts for every entity involved in this project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Through all the struggles of picking a niche domain where competition is all but guaranteed to be heavy, we stood strong in our idea of helping bring accessibility to all those who require it without inflated costs.

What we learned

The biggest demands in bridging problems together aren't in thinking of solutions but in understanding why there has not been one yet. Then come the issues with balancing variables like legal jurisdictions and scalability.

What's next for Octafiles

Following the launch, Phases 2 and 3 will strive to integrate a connection between all parties: students, professionals, and locals. By forming an environment where everyone's needs are fulfilled without resources being wasted.
