Inspiration

Urgent need to fight ocean pollution and plastic waste activities, empowered by projects like Ocean Cleanup.

What it does

A platform using AI to tell you many things about a picture of an object, like the amount of time it takes for the object to decompose in the ocean. Offers real-time dashboards and works on a phone.

How I built it

Developed primarily in JavaScript with Node.js for backend logic, used API's, and frontend libraries for visualizations.

Challenges I ran into

Syncing diverse data sources and finding the correct API's without any payment plans.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud that I created a website with AI to scan the item and tell us about the waste type, material composition, if it's recyclable or not, the ocean decomposition time, the environmental impact if this were in the ocean, and finally, how to decompose it.
