Inspiration

Obstacle is inspired by Crash Bandicoot.

What it does

A Remixable World where the player completes the obstacle as quickly as possible by avoiding traps. The world includes CCTV Cameras, HUD (timer, health, coins, boost), race timer, health, coins, boosts (speed boost, zero gravity, jump boost, double jump), checkpoints, and traps. Leaderboards for fastest race time and quests for unlockable boosts.

How we built it

Built using Horizon Desktop Editor, typescript, GenAI, and Paint for boost images.

Challenges we ran into

Making the code easy to understand for a first time user to Horizon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Separated systems, where they can all by used, or removed without affecting the other parts of the game.

What we learned

Learned to use more properties in scripts to make them easier to use for someone to use the system faster with minimum to no coding.

What's next for Obstacle Jump!

Code refactoring to make the systems easier to use, edit, and understand.
