Inspiration

After the technical careers evening which finished around 8pm, one of our members had to walk to the bus stop which, at night, was very scary. The buddy system was then rooted from that.

What it does

It allows for real time trivial requests to be put in and accepted such as waiting for the bus to arrive, study sessions, etc.

How we built it

We built this application using python in Visual Studio Code. Our code fundamentally stems from the customtkinter library as we were able to utilise a better and more clean GUI than normal tkinter.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to collaborate on code together. We initially attempted to use GitHub, however, after three hours of figuring it out we gave up and instead learnt how to use visual studio code live share.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Pushing though the constant setbacks of collaborating code and creating an application for a Hackathon despite being first year students with no experience.

What we learned

We learnt how to commit and push changes onto a shared GitHub repository. As well as turning an idea into something.
