OBR Restaurant Queue Management System — built by Saqib Anwar , Bansi, and Saifullah as an academic project at MUET Jamshoro.
We were inspired by a real problem. OBR Restaurant in Sanghar had no digital system. Customers stood in long lines, orders were written on paper, and the owner had no way to track daily sales. We decided to fix that.
We built a complete full-stack web application using PHP 8.2, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The system has two panels. The Customer Panel lets users register, get a queue token, browse the menu, place orders, and track their queue position live. The Admin Panel lets the restaurant manage the queue, serve customers, view daily sales reports, and receive real-time notifications for every order and new customer.
The biggest things we learned were PHP session management, AJAX based cart ordering, database design, and building a consistent user interface across multiple pages. We also learned that real projects come with real bugs. We faced issues like duplicate tokens being generated, missing files causing fatal errors, wrong database columns breaking the cart, and design inconsistency between our two panels. Every single bug taught us something new about how software actually works.
This was not just an assignment. We built something real for an actual restaurant in Sanghar, Pakistan. Seeing it work — customers browsing the menu, getting tokens, placing orders, and the admin managing everything from one dashboard — made every late night and every challenge completely worth it.
