OBR Restaurant Queue Management System — built by Saqib, Bansi, and Saif as an academic project at MUET Jamshoro.
We were inspired by a real problem. OBR Restaurant in Sanghar had no digital system — customers stood in long lines, orders were written on paper, and the owner had no way to track daily sales. We decided to fix that.
We built a complete full-stack web application using PHP 8.2, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The system has two panels — a Customer Panel where users register, get a queue token, browse the menu, place orders, and track their queue position live, and an Admin Panel where the restaurant manages the queue, serves customers, views daily sales reports, and receives real-time notifications.
The biggest things we learned were PHP session management, AJAX-based cart ordering, database design, and how to build a consistent UI across multiple pages. We also learned that real projects have real bugs — we faced issues like duplicate tokens, missing files causing fatal errors, wrong database columns breaking the cart, and CSS inconsistency between our two panels. Every bug taught us something new.
This was not just an assignment. We built something real for an actual restaurant in Sanghar, Pakistan. That made every challenge worth it.
