Inspiration

I have always been fascinated by perspectives. We spend so much time debating people that we never stop to wonder what the objects around us would argue if they had minds of their own. That curiosity led to Objectively, a game where ordinary objects become intelligent opponents, each with their own beliefs, personality, and way of reasoning.

What it does

Objectively is an AI powered debate game where players challenge everyday objects in conversations that are different every time. Instead of debating another person, you debate a clock, a mirror, a tree, and more, each responding according to its own worldview. The experience is designed to encourage critical thinking while making debates feel fun, surprising, and memorable.

How we built it

We built Objectively using Astrocade. We designed the gameplay, user flow, object personalities, prompts, interface, and overall experience from the ground up. AI powers the conversations, allowing every debate to feel dynamic while staying true to each object's unique character.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was making each object feel distinct instead of feeling like the same AI with a different name. We wanted every debate to have its own personality while keeping the experience simple and easy to use. Finding the balance between meaningful conversations and enjoyable gameplay took the most iteration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of turning an unusual idea into a working game. Rather than creating another chatbot, we built an experience where players interact with personalities instead of prompts. We are especially proud of creating a concept that encourages curiosity and different ways of thinking through something as ordinary as everyday objects.

What we learned

This project taught us that personality is just as important as technology. A memorable experience comes from giving players meaningful interactions, not simply generating responses. We also learned how much thoughtful design can shape the way people engage with AI.

What's next for Objectively

This is only the beginning. We plan to introduce more objects, stronger personalities, persistent memory, voice debates, leaderboards, richer environments, and evolving beliefs shaped by the community. Our long term vision is to create a world where every object has its own philosophy and every conversation leaves players thinking differently.
