Inspiration

We created a game based on reducing anxiety. We both have struggled with anxiety and anxiety attacks and wanted to find a way for everyone to have something to help them. We both also love the idea of VR technology and wanted to see what we could do to combine the two.

What it does

Oasis is a VR Game that is supposed to help relieve stress and anxiety through a variety of calming sights and sounds. We have two worlds that you can play in: God Mode--where you can create or destroy anything you want to--and the Sanctuary--online servers accessible from around the world where people can play together. When you register online, you get access to your own personal codes for God Mode, and a plethora of server codes for the Sanctuary.

How we built it

We built our project by typing out all of our ideas in a shared document and working from there. While one of us did some art sketches for the project, the other started working on coding the website to host what we were doing.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled trying to create the website since programs kept crashing or needing updates. However, we were able to by pass that in the end and create our project how we envisioned it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were extremely proud of the presentation we created at the end of the day, despite all the challenges we faced. This was our first time every creating a proper wireframe for a website, and we're really proud of what we were able to create in such a short amount of time.

What we learned

We learned that talking to others and being in control of what we are doing, even if it's just a game, can calm us down. We also learned through this hack about creating wireframes and presentation.

What's next for Oasis

If we were to expand this project, we would go about creating the actual VR technology and turning the wireframe into a fully-functioning website where people are able to login and do their customizations and access their game codes.
