This project is inspired by the haunting atmosphere of the traditional chant Anghjula Dea, whose ethereal melancholy evokes devotion, solitude, and impossible longing. The imagery draws from 19th-century Corsican convents, Romantic painting, and dreamlike symbolism. The goal was to explore the emotional tension between spirituality and forbidden love through a contemplative, poetic lens.

What it does

The film immerses the viewer in the inner world of a young novice. Through dream sequences, symbolic visions, and moments of gentle rebellion, it portrays her struggle between the vows imposed by her environment and the awakening of her own desire for freedom. The neo-classical reinterpretation of the chant amplifies this inner conflict and guides the visual narrative.

How we built it

The piece was crafted using Dreamina AI prompt to image then image to video to generate atmospheric, painterly imagery inspired by 19th-century sacred art and Romantic aesthetics. The montage was built around the music: each visual is synchronized to follow the emotional phrasing of the orchestration.
