We spoke to a journalist who worked in countries such as Egypt and Cuba where being caught with sensitive information could compromise his security and the security of those he interviewed. We made an application that would enable him to easily hide these sensitive information, particularly photos, on his phone in plain sight. Our application CatPix hides photos within one another so that an innocuous image (such as pictures of cats) can shield other images during a search at a checkpoint. The Android app is easy to use and discreet, hiding buttons within the app to reach the option to hide photos. We hope that the app would be an easy solution to a widespread problem.
