Inspiration

Healthcare produces an amount of information each day. This includes records, clinical notes, reports, appointments, analytics and more. The problem is that this information is often scattered across systems, which makes it hard for healthcare teams to see a complete picture of a patients journey.

We wanted to build something that could bring this information together and make it easier to understand.

That idea became Nythera Health AI. An Ai-powered healthcare platform designed to turn healthcare data into useful information and practical workflows.

What We Built

Nythera Health AI is a healthcare platform that brings together data, clinical insights, analytics, reports and healthcare workflows in one place.

The goal is not simply to add Ai to healthcare but to make healthcare information more connected, understandable and actionable.

Key Features

  • Unified Patient Data. Organize patient information in one place.

  • AI Clinical Insights. Help identify patterns and provide actionable insights.

  • Healthcare Analytics. Visualize trends and important metrics through dashboards.

  • Smart Workflows. Simplify healthcare tasks and workflows.

  • Reports & Documents. Manage healthcare-related reports and documents.

  • Secure Authentication. Support secure account access and verification.

  • Role-Based Experience. Design the platform around the needs of healthcare users.

  • Longitudinal Health Perspective. Keep the patients history connected of treating every interaction as an isolated event.

How We Built It

We built Nythera Health AI as a web-based healthcare platform.

The frontend provides the user interface and healthcare dashboards while the backend handles authentication, APIs, database operations, OTP verification and application logic.

Our technology stack includes:

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS

  • Backend: Python, FastAPI

  • Database: PostgreSQL

  • Authentication: Firebase Authentication

  • Cloud Services: Firebase

  • Deployment: Vercel

  • AI: powered healthcare intelligence and analysis

  • Version Control: Git & GitHub

We also implemented OTP‑based email verification and persistent OTP records rather than relying only on temporary in‑memory storage.

Challenges We Faced

One of our challenges was connecting multiple parts of the application while keeping authentication and user data secure.

We had to work through issues involving:

  • Authentication and account management

  • OTP generation, expiration and verification

  • Secure password and OTP handling

  • Database persistence

  • Connecting frontend and backend APIs

  • Environment variables between development and production

  • Deploying the application to Vercel

  • Making the application work consistently outside the local development environment

A particularly important lesson was that something that works perfectly on localhost may behave differently after deployment. Debugging production environment variables, API routes, authentication configuration and email delivery helped us understand the difference between building a prototype and building a product.

What We Learned

This project taught us that building a healthcare application is much more than creating an attractive interface.

We learned how important data organization, authentication, security, persistence, API design, deployment and reliability are when building applications that deal with healthcare workflows.

We also learned how to take an idea and turn it into smaller testable components that can be developed step, by step.

Importantly we learned that Ai can be much more useful when it is connected to the right data and workflow instead of being treated as a standalone chatbot.

Whats Next

Nythera Health AI is still evolving.

Our future plans include expanding Ai-assisted analysis improving healthcare analytics adding more intelligent workflow automation supporting additional healthcare roles and developing deeper longitudinal health intelligence.

Our long‑term vision is to build a healthcare platform that helps healthcare teams spend time searching through information and more time making informed decisions.

Better insights. Better care. Better future.
