Inspiration
Legal help often feels intimidating for people without a legal background. Many individuals don’t know whether their issue is legally valid, what their rights are, or what steps to take next. Nyayik was inspired by this gap — the lack of simple, accessible legal guidance for everyday people. The goal was to reduce fear and confusion by making legal information easy to understand and actionable.
What the Project Does
Nyayik is a beginner-friendly legal awareness platform that helps users:
- Describe their problem in plain language
- Identify the legal category of the issue
- Understand their rights without legal jargon
- Get a clear, step-by-step roadmap for next actions
The platform focuses on clarity, accessibility, and confidence before users decide to consult a lawyer.
How We Built It
Nyayik was designed using a product-thinking-first approach.
- We started by identifying common legal pain points faced by students and first-time users.
- We mapped a simple user flow to minimize cognitive load.
- UI screens were designed in Figma with a clean, non-intimidating visual style.
- The design emphasizes readable typography, simple language, and guided actions rather than complex features.
This project was built as a conceptual product design, focusing on UX, clarity, and problem-solution fit rather than technical implementation.
Challenges We Faced
- Simplifying complex legal concepts without losing meaning
- Avoiding legal jargon while keeping information accurate
- Designing for users who may feel anxious or unsure
- Keeping the scope realistic for a beginner-friendly design sprint
Balancing simplicity with usefulness was the biggest challenge.
What We Learned
- Clear problem framing is more important than feature quantity
- Beginner users value guidance and reassurance over advanced tools
- Good UX is about reducing fear, not adding complexity
- Strong storytelling helps communicate product value effectively
This project strengthened our understanding of user-first design and product thinking.
