Inspiration
The inspiration for Nyayati was from a news article by the ex CJI Mr. DY Chandrachud, where he expressed interest in utilising AI for judicial purpose, and stated how it could revolutionise the legal system in the country. The article thus captivated me and got me wondering about the major gap between the judicial system of our country eventually giving birth to Nyayati. I understood that a centralised legal marketplace powered with AI features not just has a market in India but also solves a major problem that have been prolonged in our country.
What it does
Nyayati is an AI-driven legal platform that matches clients with ideal legal experts, automates paperwork, tracks cases in real time, and makes justice faster, smarter, and more accessible. Some features it encompasses are as follows: 🔍 AI-Based Client-Lawyer Matching using LLMs + RAG for optimal compatibility and higher case success rates 💬 Online Legal Consultations with verified professionals 🧾 E-Case Filing for digital case submission and management 🤝 Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) – Mediation & Arbitration services 🤖 AI Legal Bots for instant legal assistance and query handling ⚖️ Pro Bono Legal Services for those in need 📄 Document Drafting & Review – Contracts, Affidavits, Legal Docs 🐾 Specialized Support for Animal Law cases 🎓 Student Internship Programs in legal domains 🏛️ Digital Notary Services with verified notaries 📢 Legal Awareness Initiatives for public legal education
How we built it
So the very first thing was to make an initial plan and understand the exact problem, with proper statistics. After analysing this and conducting a surgery, it was time to create a block diagram that had a flow of how Nyayati would work like, since we had a vision for both app and website, thus the tech stack was slightly different but the customer journey was kind of same. Got a team of people from different domain to make this idea into reality and subsequently build it at the first place.
Challenges we ran into
There were numerous challenges, be it the accuracy of the data obtained, intricate llm’s to work with, enterprise level software expenses and mainly to keep up the constant zeal and be consistent. Since it was dealing with a very crucial and sensitive field where each letter of information is extremely important, we had to be extremely cautious with our product for accurate data, and also the AI models for complete security and minimal hallucinations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Nyayati first found it’s break in Smart India Hackathon, where though in it’s very initial stage yet it made to the top 50 from our university, subsequently we took it to different different incubation centres and competitions, where the most notable ones are the final round of IIT-BHU and IIT Jammu online startup enclave cum pitch a thon and our biggest milestone was to make in the top 10 in the country at IIT- Bombay’s Action plan competition, where not only our product got rave reviews but also held as an eye opener for the society to understand the need of AI in legal tech.
What we learned
It is continuous learning trail throughout, initial learning’s were primarily focused on patience, and the art to observe, subsequently as we moved with Nyayati we learned the art of improvising and polishing our product and yes it also exposed and taught us new skills every day be it blockchain, or new tools in AI, a constant upward trajectory with learning.
What's next for Nyayati
So Nyayati currently now is being revamped with tons of new changes, I as a developer and founder am ensuring to scale up my product to make it industry ready soon, we are incorporating numerous features and also taking Nyayati ahead in numerous competitions to enhance networking and make people aware about AI in LEGAL TECH.
