Inspiration

Content creators often have brilliant ideas but struggle to consistently turn them into engaging, multi-format content. We wanted to build a tool that feels like a creative collaborator — one that listens, asks insightful questions, and helps creators effortlessly transform their thoughts into polished scripts, social posts, videos, and more.

What it does

Nuum uses AI to engage creators in a podcast-style conversation, extracting and refining their ideas through dynamic questioning. It then generates ready-to-publish content across multiple formats, including social media posts, video shorts, and detailed scripts, all tailored to the creator’s unique voice and style.

How we built it

We began by prototyping using hardcoded data in Bolt, providing clear specifications and explicitly avoiding real data for safety. Next, we leveraged Bolt’s ask mode to collaboratively plan and design the database schema, which we then implemented on Supabase. For the conversational AI agent, we used Eleven Labs’ conversation AI, while backend logic was handled through Supabase Edge Functions. Additionally, we integrated Tavus to build an intelligent onboarding agent that guides new users smoothly through the platform.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating multiple platforms smoothly proved complex, especially coordinating data and content flow across YouTube, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn. Building client-side video rendering using FFmpeg WASM was technically challenging due to browser limitations and performance constraints. Setting up seamless end-to-end workflows—particularly with Tavus for asynchronous content identity creation—required careful orchestration to ensure a smooth user experience. Additionally, designing AI-generated questions that are insightful yet not overwhelming, while preserving the creator’s authentic voice, demanded extensive fine-tuning. What we learned

If there's one thing we came to realize, it's that AI is here to stay. Building Nuum would have been a goliath of a task a year back and now it took us under a month.

We discovered that content creation is as much about the journey of discovery as the final product. Building AI that adapts to different creative voices and formats is complex but rewarding. Also, iterative user feedback is essential for refining the conversational flow and output relevance.

What's next for NuuM

We plan to expand format support to include podcasts, newsletters, and interactive content. Improving AI personalization based on user preferences and style will enhance authenticity even further.

Our next major milestone is introducing team support, allowing creators and collaborators to work together seamlessly within the platform. We also plan to enhance content reuse capabilities, enabling users to easily adapt and repurpose their content across multiple formats—such as blogs, YouTube videos, LinkedIn posts, and a wider variety of video styles. This will streamline workflows and maximize the value of each idea. Ultimately, our vision is to evolve Nuum into a comprehensive, full-fledged content studio that empowers creators to efficiently produce, manage, and scale their content across all channels from a single, unified platform.
