Inspiration
I wanted a simple, nutrition tracker that feels more like a personal coach than just a calorie counter. With busy schedules and a mountain of diet apps out there, I envisioned NutriTrack as a friendly, companion to help users log meals, understand macros, and stay motivated every day.
What it does
- Quickly browse or search real-world food items with images and add them to Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. ## How we built it React Native with Expo Data Sources: OpenFoodFacts API for food search + Nutritionix endpoints for detailed nutrition data. AI Integration: OpenAI’s GPT-3.5-Turbo for our “NutriBot” chat assistant.
Challenges we ran into
- Building multiple screens (Home, Add Meal, Detail, Summary, Chat) in a tight hackathon schedule.
## Accomplishments that we're proud of
- A fully functional meal-logging flow with images, macros, and daily summaries.
- Smooth AI chat integration that guides users toward healthy choices. ## What we learned
