Inspiration

Nutrisnap represents a fusion of cutting-edge technology and health-conscious living. Inspired by the growing demand for personalized health solutions, we envisioned a platform that seamlessly integrates AI-powered analysis with user-friendly functionality. By harnessing the power of Next.js, Gemini, Firebase, and Python, we've created a robust ecosystem where users can effortlessly access personalized insights into their dietary habits, skincare needs, and overall well-being.

What it does

Nutrisnap empowers users to take control of their health by offering a multifaceted approach to wellness assessment. Through the simple act of scanning food, skin, and body images, users gain access to a wealth of data, including calorie counts, skin disease detection, and tailored skincare recommendations. Additionally, Nutrisnap fosters a sense of community through features such as the scoreboard, where users can track their progress and compete with others on the platform.

How we built it

We leveraged a combination of Next.js, Gemini, Firebase for Authentication, Firestore for data storage, and Python for AI model development. Next.js provided a solid foundation for building a dynamic and responsive web interface, while Gemini facilitated seamless integration of AI models for image analysis. Firebase ensured secure and streamlined user authentication, while Firestore enabled efficient storage and retrieval of user data. Our Python backend handled the heavy lifting of AI model fine-tuning and data processing, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

Challenges we ran into

Google Auth guidelines of not using iframe for chatbots , lead to a lot of loss of potential users , fixed that by integrating chatbot directly in the codebase.Building Nutrisnap presented several challenges, from fine-tuning AI models to ensuring smooth integration of various technologies. We encountered hurdles in optimizing the performance of our AI algorithms, as well as challenges in managing large volumes of user data securely. Additionally, ensuring a seamless user experience across different devices and platforms posed its own set of challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

400+ users who come daily on our platform and the more than 100k view on instagram and 100's of sweet comments and dm on how much they love our products . Despite the challenges, we're proud to have created a platform that empowers users to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. We're particularly proud of the accuracy and reliability of our AI models, as well as the seamless user experience we've achieved. Moreover, building a vibrant community of health-conscious individuals through features like the scoreboard has been immensely gratifying.

What we learned

Building Nutrisnap has been a valuable learning experience for our team. We've gained insights into the intricacies of AI model development, user interface design, and backend infrastructure management. Moreover, collaborating on a project of this scale has honed our teamwork and communication skills, paving the way for future collaborations.

What's next for Nutrisnap

Looking ahead, we're excited to continue enhancing Nutrisnap with new features and capabilities , Brandcollaborations with big brands in food and Skincare industry is our main goal and to get almost a million users , we are currently 400+ users strong . We aim to further refine our AI algorithms to provide even more accurate and personalized insights. Additionally, we plan to expand Nutrisnap's reach by incorporating additional functionalities such as meal planning, fitness tracking, and community forums. With a growing user base and a relentless commitment to innovation, the future of Nutrisnap is bright and promising.
