Objective The objective of this app is to empower consumers with a comprehensive tool for making informed food choices by providing the following functionalities: Food Label Scanning: Seamlessly scan food labels to capture ingredient and nutritional information. Toxin and Harm Detection: Detects and analyzes toxin levels and harmful ingredients by comparing them against FDA standards. Simplified Health Impact Explanation: Provide easy-to-understand explanations (ELI5) of the health impacts associated with the detected ingredients, enabling users to make healthier and safer dietary decisions. Core Modules of the Application Scanning: Provide a seamless way to scan or upload an image from your phone into the app Ingredient Extraction: Extract and recognize ingredients from the scanned label. Normalize and Standardize the ingredients, units, and terms FDA Database Integration: Connect to the FDA database for real-time cross-referencing of ingredients Ingredient Analysis: Based on FDA data and other reputable sources, evaluate each ingredient's potential cancer risk. Assign risk scores for each product based on the presence Toxin Taxonomy: Create a taxonomy of ingredients along with dynamically scoring and updating based on ingredients scanned Risk Scoring System: Provide a risk score for each ingredient and an overall score for the product.
