First-gen low-income students often face unique financial challenges while pursuing education. They navigate tuition, books, and living costs with limited resources. Balancing academics and part-time work can strain time and energy.
What it does
The NutriBudget platform's fusion of financial literacy and nutrient-based spending insights can empower these students to optimize spending, manage expenses, and prioritize health, fostering resilience and success in their academic journeys.
How we built it
We used html and css along with embedded javascript while we ran our project off a flask server
Challenges we ran into
We originally had wanted to incorporate an API that would show sales/discounts at local grocery stores however each one we had found was paid and therefor we could implement it
What's next for NutriBudget
After we comeback with a budget to buy and incorporate the api we plan to test and eventually move it on to a mobile app to make it more accessible.
