🔹 Inspiration

The inspiration for Nurture Sync came from a personal experience. My mother once had a fever that was actually scrub typhus—a potentially fatal illness if left untreated. A general clinic, unaware of her medical history, prescribed a common fever medication that made things worse. Thankfully, she recovered, but it highlighted a dangerous gap in our healthcare system: doctors often don’t know a patient’s past history, leading to life-threatening errors.

Additionally, while researching the healthcare landscape, we found some alarming facts:

Over 92% of Indians self-medicate, including more than 50% of adolescents.
Medical reports are filled with technical terms, making them incomprehensible for many.
Rural and underserved communities face major language and access barriers.
India witnesses over 5.2 million preventable medical errors annually.

We realized the need for a solution that empowers patients, simplifies health data, and bridges the communication gap in healthcare.

🔹 Challenges We Ran Into

📄 Report Format Chaos: Medical reports come in dozens of formats with inconsistent structure, making AI analysis extremely difficult.
🧮 Too Many Numbers: Reports are full of numerical values that vary by lab, requiring custom interpretation rules.
🕒 Slow Inference Times: Large models made real-time analysis impractical on mobile devices.

We overcame these challenges by integrating Gemini Pro agentic AI, which provided contextual reasoning and improved generalization across report formats. We optimized prompts and data flow for low-latency analysis.
