Inspiration

NurseAI was built to enhance medical access for the elderly. Due to low pay and poor incentives assisted living facilities are critically understaffed. Many patients die painful and completely preventable deaths simply out of neglect. We believe that this should not be the case.

What it does

NurseAI brings 24/7 nursing care in arms reach. These devices notify medical staff of events such as falls, allowing for a rapid response which will save lives. They help remind patients and their physicians about medication. And it will always be there to answer any medical related questions. And most importantly of all, these life-saving services are affordable

How we built it

This first prototype of NurseAI was built off of an Expressif Systems ESP32 and various sensors and driving circuits. We then had, which communicates via webhooks to a central database. The Database then passes this data through a GTS, open AI, and finally back through whisper to produce relevant results for the patient.

Challenges we ran into

Every part of Nurse AI was a rollercoaster ride. The AI model was fickle and passing the data through them which resulted in accurate results was a continuous process of trial and error. The hardware too presented issues as resources where very limited and defective hardware and erratic behavior put the whole project. in jeopardy at multiple turns. Finally the Website and the
