Inspiration
Very few projects using big clinical data sets are made available to researchers in general due to the heterogeneity in data complexity and structures, the lack of computing methods, and concerns about sharing private patient data.
What it does
Our platform allows hospitals to share data which can be anonymized and tracked on the blockchain which ensures researchers get access to real time health data which can aid in building better AI and ML models.
How we built it
The data from sensors (heartbeat, pulse) is aggregated and anonymized, then it is pushed to a blockchain network in which the data can be securely stored and given access to various researchers.
Challenges we ran into
Developing the hardware and integrating it into the data pipeline. Anonymizing the user data for public availability. Integrating with blockchain. Asynchronous exchange of patient heartbeat data between services. Integration of all the components
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our first attempt at integrating hardware and creating a multi-service application. Integrating smart contracts to enable the patients to benefit from the sale of their collective data for research purposes.
What we learned
It is hard to pull of hardware and software integration within 24 hours
What's next for Nurse.AI
Integration with chat bots and making the platform more usable. Integrate GPT-4 for natural language searching of patient data. Follow standards needed by hospitals/medical industry for patient data management
