Inspiration

Managing or interacting with a vast community like reddit often requires a quick way to understand a user's history and activity. I was inspired to build this tool because i noticed there wasn't a simple, centralized way for moderators or curious users to get a quick "snap shot" of a total.

What it does

The reddit username lookup website is a streamlined web application that allows users to enter any reddit username and instantly retrieve their public profile data.

How we built it

Fronted:HTML5,CSS3 and JS Backend: PRAW Hosting: Github & Netlify- souptikinfoosint.netlify.app

Challenges we ran into

The biggest technical hurdle was handling reddit's API rate limits.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of creating a tool that provides near-instant results. Successfully integrating the reddit api key and building a functional,real world application within the hackathon.

What we learned

This project taught me a lot about rest apis and asynchronous in programing js/python.
