Inspiration

I was inspired to try to use Dasha AI's services in a unique way. Since game development is largely what I specialize in, I thought that it would be an interesting challenge to see how one could implement Dasha AI with games.

What it does

The app is an interactive game where the user tries to guess a number and is told to guess higher or lower until the target number is guessed and they win!

How we built it

It was built using Dasha AI, dsl, and JavaScript. The JavaScript handles the game logic (creating a random number and determining whether to guess higher or lower) part of the app while Dasha AI handles the output and input of the game.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge I ran into was with training the data to understand any possible integer. The AI had difficulty interpreting certain numbers in the form of words (45 was a key example). I limited the number range to 100 and added a decent amount of data to ensure that the AI could interpret all numbers from 0 to 99.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of learning how to work with a new API, language, service, and concept! It's always super fun and interesting to learn new tools to add to my own personal toolkit.

What we learned

I learned a lot about how Dasha AI works as a service and how to use it in my future projects.

What's next for Number Guessing Game

Moving forward, I thought it would be really interesting to make a text-based adventure game that is entirely voice-based. If I had more time, I would definitely had created that project. I would like to implement a system where you tell the AI what you want to do (would work well with the digression system). Sort of like a game of Dungeons and Dragons or a voice-driven version of AI Dungeon.

(The code is standalone and is not hosted. It needs to be compiled to be used as per the GitHub instructions.)
