Inspiration

Our friend Dhruv has a sulfur allergy, and it was really hard for him to figure out if it is safe consume drinks/packages foods without having an allergic reaction, as the ingredients have masked names such as INS05, E-102, etc.

What it does

Sulphr takes your medical history, medical reports and prescriptions retreives all the data points and helps you figure out if any food/drink is safe to consume based on your medical conditions, allergens, etc

How we built it

We used Flask(python) for backend, JS and Tailwind CSS for the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

API issues, and connecting our work (frontend+backend), However we figured it all out!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We figured out all the issues, resolved them and built a working prototype of the app in 2days!

What we learned

Dhruv is not the only victim of scientific names and not being able to figure out if certain foods and drinks are safe for consumption. 200k people have gone to the ER for the same reason, and we hope Sulphr is the start of safe consumption and awareness of random ingredients in products.

What's next for Null Pointers, Team - 43

We will improve Sulphr to provide alternates to products you cannot consume, and we will continue to expand Sulphr's knowledge base.
