Inspiration

We believe voice is the most human and powerful way people express intent. But until now, founders and investors have been stuck inside cold emails, web forms, and endless LinkedIn DMs—none of which capture real tone, urgency, or conviction.

With the rise of LLMs and voice AI, we saw a huge opportunity: What if there was a lightweight, emotionally intelligent voice layer for startup ecosystems—one that listens, understands, and nudges people into action at just the right time?

Over the past week, we’ve already pitched Nudgy to several founders and VCs in our network. Many of them are actively using it—and loving how it captures their story and energy in ways text tools never could.

What it does

Nudgy is a voice-first AI assistant that helps startup founders and investors clarify their story, surface their intent, and move toward the right next step—whether that’s a warm intro, feedback on their pitch, or a future follow-up when the timing makes sense.

Nudgy listens for:

• Who they are
  
• What they’re working on or looking for
  
• How they sound (clarity, confidence, urgency)
  

It then generates a clean summary and creates structured, nudge-ready data for downstream action—without feeling robotic, salesy, or like a form-filler.

How we built it

We hacked Nudgy together fast with a small, focused stack:

• Bolt.dev – Our primary IDE for rapid development
  
• ElevenLabs – For Text-to-Speech (TTS) voice responses
  
• OpenAI API – For natural language understanding (LLM logic), tone detection, and Speech-to-Text (STT) transcription
  
• Claude (Anthropic) – Used as our developer co-pilot and code-generation agent during build
  
• Supabase – For backend storage, call logging, and user journey tracking
  
• Google Sheets – For quick VC/founder matchmaking logic
  
• A little help from Curose.ai – For internal dev ops and debugging flow edge cases
  

Challenges we ran into

• Crafting a non-robotic voice assistant system prompt that feels like a peer, not an intake agent
  
• Handling voice transcription errors, especially for names, emails, and company names
  
• Making the cold-start intro moment feel warm and natural, especially for inbound unknown calls
  
• Structuring the conversation flow to balance brevity with depth—without making users feel like they’re taking a survey
  

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

• Already had live voice conversations with multiple founders and VCs
  
• Early users said Nudgy helped them clarify their story better than any pitch form they’ve used before
  
• Delivered an end-to-end working MVP in under a week: voice input → AI summary → structured nudge data
  
• Built a full founder vs investor branching flow based on user type detection
  

What we learned

• Tone and flow matter more than raw accuracy in voice-first UX
  
• Founders love having a post-call summary they can edit and improve
  
• Investors care as much about founder tone, conviction, and vibe as the factual pitch content
  
• Conversational AI for human-driven decisions (like investing) requires emotional intelligence at every step

What’s next for Nudgy

• Launch Nudgy for sales teams, hiring managers, and product onboarding flows
  
• Build a founder pitch tracker, showing how clarity, confidence, and storytelling evolve over time
  
• Expand our investor-matching logic to be fully AI-driven, with dynamic tone and intent matching
  
• Introduce weekly check-ins and coaching nudges for users who want to track progress or prepare for future investor outreach
  
• Move from hackathon MVP → real product used by accelerators, incubators, and funds globally
