Inspiration
A convenient choice can bundle consequences that are easy to miss. Nudgeproof turns that problem into a fictional investigation: understand the whole causal chain before proposing a repair.
What it does
Each case follows five phases: Watch, Inspect, Freeze, Rewind and Repair. Observe a recording, inspect actions with a Truth Lens, expose each source’s complete consequence bundle, rewind to the declared starting snapshot and choose a route you can defend.
Money, Attention and Privacy are visible resources on the board. Forty-eight original cases across twelve chapters explore pressure signals, bundled choices and scope shifts. Replay Lab and the locally rotating Daily Trace support return play.
How we built it
The game uses Swift and SwiftUI for its native case interface, scene presentation and local progress. RevenueCat manages a one-time Full Game purchase through Apple’s non-consumable product.
All installed cases, tutorials, repairs, results and retries are playable in free untimed practice. The optional purchase adds ranked timers, escalating miss penalties, scorecards and personal-best records. The puzzle rules and answers remain the same.
Challenges and what we learned
A fair investigation needs authored consequences that stay consistent across playback, rewind and repair. The interface also has to show a complete evidence bundle without accidentally teaching a partial answer. Contextual Help hides active evidence before explaining the current step.
The cases are fictional simulations. They do not make real purchases, change device settings or inspect activity outside the game. Progress and records stay on the device, with no account or cloud sync.
Accomplishments
Version 1.0 is now publicly listed on the US App Store. The complete untimed puzzle experience remains available without payment.
What’s next
Demonstrate one investigation from recording to repair and validate the purchase and restore boundary on a physical device before the next update.
