What Nudge Kick does: Nudge Kick is an Android app and a browser extension (Firefox, Chrome, and Safari) that allows users to block apps on their phone or URLs on their browser until they complete a fitness goal for the day. A user can create a steps goal or a check-in goal and use the app or FitBit to track progress.

The target user: I'm developing for anyone who struggles to maintain an exercise schedule. Today, we all know how to exercise and we all know that exercise is good for us. Still, many of us (myself included) simply don't know how to stick to an exercise schedule. It is a huge problem and I am trying to help people solve it.
My inspiration: Community health researchers found that people who live in environments that encourage physical activity, tend to do be more active (Buettner, 2012). Surprisingly, it wasn't access to gyms or fitness experts that lead to more exercise. Rather, it was simply a physical environment that "nudged" people to walk, jog, and engage in other physical activities. So I decided to develop an app and browser extension that let users shape their virtual environments so that those environments nudged them to exercise more often. For example, you can block your Facebook app until they walk 2,000 steps. But another way to think about this is that you 'move' your Facebook down the block.
