Inspiration

nothing really but the idea came cuz of some war that happened back in the day.

What it does

A nuclear weapon[a] is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission (fission bomb) or a combination of fission and fusion reactions (thermonuclear bomb), producing a nuclear explosion. Both bomb types release large quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter. The first test of a fission ("atomic") bomb released an amount of energy approximately equal to 20,000 tons of TNT (84 TJ).[1] The first thermonuclear ("hydrogen") bomb test released energy approximately equal to 10 million tons of TNT (42 PJ). Nuclear bombs have had yields between 10 tons TNT (the W54) and 50 megatons for the Tsar Bomba (see TNT equivalent). A thermonuclear weapon weighing as little as 600 pounds (270 kg) can release energy equal to more than 1.2 megatonnes of TNT (5.0 PJ).[2] A nuclear device no larger than a conventional bomb can devastate an entire city by blast, fire, and radiation. Since they are weapons of mass destruction, the proliferation of nuclear weapons is a focus of international relations policy. Nuclear weapons have been deployed twice in war, by the United States against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 during World War II.

How we built it

A discovery by nuclear physicists in a laboratory in Berlin, Germany, in 1938 made the first atomic bomb possible, after Otto Hahn, Lise Meitner and Fritz Strassman discovered nuclear fission. In nuclear fission, the nucleus of an atom of radioactive material splits into two or more smaller nuclei, which causes a sudden, powerful release of energy. The discovery of nuclear fission opened up the possibility of nuclear technologies, including weapons. Atomic bombs get their energy from fission reactions. Thermonuclear weapons, or hydrogen bombs, rely on a combination of nuclear fission and nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion is another type of reaction in which two lighter atoms combine to release energy.

Challenges we ran into

That time when nuclear bomb was invented, it was just like a miracle to build a bomb that can destroy a whole huge country itself.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

nothing to be proud of in this project cuz these weapons are making people live in fear asking themselves will they drop this project to our beautiful planet? .

What we learned

the beauty about this topic is to understand how people used to think about something very big just to save their country or to defend themself.

What's next for nuclear bomb

One of the representative next-generation nuclear projects that advocates say could help bring the world into a new nuclear golden age is ITER, the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, an almost unfathomably large fusion experiment made from millions of unprecedented components. Even Germany is part of ITER, not only as part of the European Union, but with a representative at the recent groundbreaking for ITER’s assembly phase. This points to a seeming disconnect between decades of fission reactors—the ones operating around the world today, many dating back to the 1970s or even earlier—and nuclear fusion, which seems to carry symbolic meaning for science, the energy sector, and the world interest in the effects of climate change.
