🌱 Inspiration
Indoor plants and crops often struggle due to improper watering, nutrient imbalance, or changing environmental conditions. We noticed that plant owners rely heavily on guesswork or inconsistent online advice, which often harms rather than helps. This inspired us to build a smart, data-driven system that gives plants a voice of their own — helping users understand what their plants truly need through real-time analysis and intelligent insights.
💡 What it does
Nubloom Analysis Pot is a smart plant-monitoring system that integrates advanced sensors and an intuitive mobile app to ensure optimal plant health. It continuously measures soil moisture, temperature, pH, humidity, and light intensity, sending real-time data and personalized recommendations to the user’s phone. The system also offers:
AI-based health insights and care suggestions
“Desi plant-care tips” rooted in traditional Indian gardening practices
Scalability for precision agriculture, allowing farmers to use GPS-integrated sensor networks for crop monitoring.
🧩 How we built it
We developed the prototype using:
Hardware: pH sensor, capacitive soil moisture sensor, DHT22 (temperature & humidity), BH1750 (light sensor), and EC sensor.
Microcontroller: Arduino-based system with solar-powered support.
Software: Data collected is transmitted to a web dashboard and mobile app (built with React, Firebase, and Node.js).
Backend: Cloud-based storage and analytics engine for real-time updates.
Design: Bioplastic pot structure integrating all sensors neatly with minimal wiring. We tested the setup in different soil types and indoor environments to validate sensor accuracy and stability.
⚙️ Challenges we ran into
Calibration of analog pH and EC sensors for consistent readings across soil types.
Achieving real-time wireless communication while maintaining low power consumption.
Designing a compact, eco-friendly bioplastic casing without signal interference.
Integrating traditional plant care logic with sensor-based AI suggestions in the app.
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully created a working prototype that provides accurate real-time soil data.
Developed an interactive UI for both beginner gardeners and advanced farmers.
Reduced the overall cost to under ₹1000, making it one of the most affordable smart pots.
Formulated a scalable model adaptable to agricultural use cases — bridging home gardening and precision farming.
