Inspiration
Nubicuo takes inspiration by two sides, On chain game precursors like EtherOrcs, Cyberkongz and Axie Infinity, and by the other side like an extension of Aave lending protocol and the real life banking system. As hardcore gaming users we realize that a p2p for lending and borrowing was the obvious step to push the gaming ecosystem.
What it does
Nubicuo is a protocol that allows p2p lending and borrowing with fully customizable orders settings like interest and time and allows any kind of exchange of tokens between the users as well.
How we built it
We detect a necessity that exists a tool in the market to allow users to swap non-fungible assets in a decentralize and secure way. That's why We opt to use Solidity to develop our own smart contracts as a kind of escrow in order to assure security for both parties. In order to assure a total decentralized application, we use Spheron as a tool for deploying our frontend built with ReactJS. Also, we use The Graph to get the orders deployed from the marketplace contract from the blockchain in order to avoid using centralized tools.
Challenges we ran into
The most crucial challenge was to consolidate a multi-cultural team, align expectations and coordinate efforts and personalities. As a team, we have to develop the proof of done to get our contracts validated, besides writing the contracts that allow interaction between different nft tokens.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have a product that has no direct competition in the market since p2p lending and borrowing is an upcoming trend by the hand of on-chain gaming rising ecosystem. We are proud to be a fully Hispanic team working across four countries with different time zones.
We manage to capture our idea and vision into a solid whitepaper for our MVP version, and fully functional smart contracts and front end. This gives us a solid base to develop our product and edge to deliver our protocol as soon as possible.
What we learned
The challenges of working in web 3.0 are as high as the fulfillment and joy from it. Bringing an idea across several people to build something for a noisy environment like crypto has a lot of ups and downs, and we learned that building a solid layer 0 of people in our team was a major accomplishment and the big first step toward an idea.
What's next for Nubicuo
We want to improve UX/UI for our community, expand our services in our protocol, and listen to what the market really needs and what really wants since we are building for them. Nubicuo is set to become fully functional and looking to partner with the consolidated and upcoming game builders.
We strongly believe Nubicuo has more room to grow outside the gaming industry. As web 3.0 get to more areas of development, the lending and borrowing functionalities of this protocol will be developed to get into the pace of innovation (ie Real World Assets) across multiple blockchains
