🚀 My Journey with N-thora: Building AI that Connects Real Human Wisdom
🌟 What Inspired Me
The idea for N-thora was born from a very personal place. Over the years, I've been that go-to person in my network—helping friends, founders, and professionals get answers, find the right connections, and move forward in their journeys. But I’ve also been on the receiving end—saved by the wisdom and timely help of others in my own network.
I realized something powerful: our networks are full of untapped, credible expertise. But it’s fragmented, slow to access, and mostly hidden unless you know who to ask.
That’s when it clicked—what if AI could help us tap into our networks with the speed of a search engine, but the trust of a close friend?
📚 What I Learned Through this journey, I’ve learned:
LLMs are powerful, but context and credibility matter more than raw intelligence.
AI is best when it augments human connection, not replaces it.
People want to learn and grow, but they crave trusted, personalized input—not one-size-fits-all answers.
I studied how tools like ChatGPT work, how agents can represent users, and how networks like GLG and AlphaSights match experts—but I knew it could be done more efficiently, and with AI at the core.
🛠️ How I Built N-thora
The first version of N-thora is live—a lean but powerful system that lets users post questions, routes them intelligently, and surfaces responses from real people (and eventually, their AI-powered agents). I’ve been helping people resolve queries in everything from startup GTM to D2C strategy in India—sometimes in under a minute, and always with human context.
I built it using:
Supabase for backend/auth/database
Next.js + Tailwind for the frontend
GPT-powered agents that can eventually learn from the user’s own history and network
Manual routing initially to study behavior, later to be automated with agent-to-agent communication
⚔️ Challenges I Faced This journey hasn’t been easy. Some of the toughest challenges were:
Explaining the idea: People often think it’s “just another GPT wrapper.” It’s not—it’s a network of human-trained agents.
Building trust at scale: How do you maintain credibility when AI is involved? I had to ensure humans could step in anytime, and all agents are traceable to real people.
Monetization skepticism: I’ve been told it’s too abstract or hard to monetize. But that’s exactly what excites me—this is the kind of problem worth solving.
🎯 The Road Ahead In the next 5 years, I believe every professional will have a personal agent that speaks on their behalf, learns from their actions, and helps others just like they would. N-th`ora is my way of making that future real—starting now.
If you'd like to see N-th`ora in action or collaborate in any way, feel free to connect. I’d be thrilled to contribute to the AI Masterclass movement in whatever way I can.
With gratitude, Niranjan Bala
