One of the ugliest realities about patients during the COVID19 pandemic is when they are on a ventilator the air coming in their lungs is usually all provided by the device. However, sometimes the patient could be able to breathe in a bit. In most setups this is not allowed (also because of the risk of aerosolisation of the virus if not fit with a proper valve).
I've devised a valve which allows the patient to suck in air from the room and mix this air sucked in by the patient inspiration with the one provided via the ventilator.
