Inspiration
Access to healthcare information is often difficult for many patients, especially when medical reports are complex and hard to understand. Many patients receive lab reports but cannot easily interpret the results or know whether they should seek medical attention. This inspired us to build NovaCare AI, a system that helps patients understand their health reports using artificial intelligence
What it does
Access to healthcare information is often difficult for many patients, especially when medical reports are complex and hard to understand. Many patients receive lab reports but cannot easily interpret the results or know whether they should seek medical attention. This inspired us to build NovaCare AI, a system that helps patients understand their health reports using artificial intelligence
How we built it
NovaCare AI is an intelligent health assistant that analyzes patient health reports and provides simple insights. Users can input their medical details or upload report values, and the system analyzes the information to determine possible health risks and provide recommendations. The platform also generates a summarized health report that can be shared with hospitals for better communication between patients and healthcare providers. The system includes:
A user-friendly web interface for entering patient health information
AI-based analysis logic to evaluate medical report values
Automated health risk assessment and recommendations
A feature to generate a report that can be shared with healthcare providers
The project code and implementation are hosted on GitHub.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was designing a system that could interpret health data in a meaningful way while keeping the interface simple for users. Another challenge was integrating the analysis logic into a smooth workflow so that users could easily input data and receive results instantly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully built NovaCare – AI Health Record Assistant, a working AI-powered healthcare prototype.
Developed an interactive web application using Streamlit for easy medical report analysis.
Implemented automated detection of health conditions from patient reports and generated AI-based summaries.
Created a health dashboard that highlights possible risks such as fever or diabetes.
Built a simple AI chatbot to answer user questions about medical reports.
Enabled a feature that allows users to share their medical reports digitally with hospitals.
Successfully deployed and shared the project code through GitHub.
