Project Story — Nova

Inspiration

The idea for Nova began in a very personal, ordinary moment.

My younger sister is a content creator. One day, she was working on a shot she had already fully visualized in her head. She knew the framing, the mood, the feeling she wanted to capture. But when she finally set up the camera and recorded it, the result didn’t match what she had imagined. The lighting felt wrong, the composition was off, and the shot simply didn’t carry the emotion she intended.

She was disappointed for the rest of the day.

Later that same day, I watched a movie and noticed how effortlessly the shots conveyed intention, emotion, and meaning. That contrast made something click. This wasn’t just her problem. It was a universal problem for visual media creators: the gap between imagination and execution.

I started looking at filmmakers, content creators, and visual storytellers in general, and I realized how much of pre-production still relies on mental visualization, vague sketches, or expensive illustrators. That realization became the true inception of Nova.

Nova is an AI-powered cinematic previsualization tool built for filmmakers and visual media creators. It transforms scripts and creative intent into deterministic, controllable, production-ready storyboards using Bria’s FIBO JSON-native image generation.

Features

AI agent responsible for interpretation of prompts and creative ideas into cinematic intent rather than raw prompts to mirror a cinematographer's mind

JSON-architecture for cinematographic parameters using FIBO for deterministic and reproducible outputs

Full parameter control.

Color pipeline control with HDR, 16-bit color depth, filmic tone mapping, and grading

Editable and transparent parameters for full creative inspection and reuse

Production-ready storyboard generation aligned with real filmmaking workflows

How I Built the Project

I approached Nova methodically.

I started by creating a roadmapa clear outline of what I wanted to build at each stage of the project. The focus was on solving a specific problem: translating creative intent into controllable, cinematic visual outputs during pre-production.

The core of the system revolves around:

  • Interpreting scripts and creative ideas
  • Reasoning about cinematography (camera, lens, lighting, composition)
  • Converting that reasoning into structured, deterministic parameters
  • Generating reproducible cinematic shots using FIBO

Rather than rushing into implementation, I prioritized structure and intent. Each component of Nova was designed to reflect real-world cinematic decision-making, not just image generation.

Closing Thoughts

Nova exists because imagination deserves better tools.

Nova is my attempt to bring execution closer to imagination, before the camera ever rolls.
