An iOS and Web App that helps solve both hunger due to homelessness and excessive food waste

What it does

  • Connects people in need of food with those that are able and willing to donate their surplus food supply. The App utilizes geolocation to determine realtime locations.

Challenges I ran into

  • Implementing Firebase to allow client-server interaction

What's next for Nourish

  • Implementing a fully functional supplier and volunteer portal using Firebase Database and NodeJS.
  • Implementing geofencing to allow for pop-up notification when someone in need of food is in the vicinity of a food provider.
  • Registering the domain and going live.
