Inspiration

I was inspired by constantly trying to make healthy recipes and not finding any good ones, and also by the recent surge in AI popularity and interest

What it does

You can message this bot to either make a recipe for you (using the openai GPT 3.5 turbo model) or set up a working period technique known as the "Pomodoro technique", which forces the user to work for 25 minutes, and then take a break for five minutes and so on.

How we built it

The main focus was to use Twilio or the majority of things. I started by making a flask application that hosted the Twilio code and then setting up a "ngrok" server, which is used to handle incoming messages to Twilio, so the bot can read them and respond to them.

Challenges we ran into

Setting up the Flask, Twilio, and ngrok to work together was difficult at first

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Setting up a fully functioning bot that can be accessed anywhere, and using lots of API's and new software that I had not used before to make this bot

What we learned

This was my first hackathon and I learned that it is more stressful than coding something for yourself, especially given the time crunch and the way you have to balance an online hackathon with daily life.

What's next for Nourish & Flourish

Adding more features, more food related content, more productivity management (especially for school related topics) using AI to make pictures of the recipe/food given to the user.
