Inspiration Food waste is a growing crisis — nearly 1/3 of all food produced globally is wasted. We wanted to build an app that makes it easy, rewarding, and social to reduce food waste, eat healthier, and share with the community.
How We Built It We built Nouri as a mobile-first web app using React on the Base44 platform. The app connects a smart pantry tracker, AI-powered meal analysis, a community food exchange, and a gamified rewards system — all in one seamless experience.

Receipt Scanning with AI — Snap your grocery receipt and Nouri instantly extracts, categorizes, and adds every item to your pantry with estimated expiry dates.
AI Meal Analysis from Food Photos — Take a photo of any meal and Nouri's AI identifies the dish, ingredients, and calorie count in seconds.
Community Food Exchange — List surplus food and claim items from neighbors, earning Green Points for every successful exchange.
Green & Wellness Points Gamification — Every sustainable action earns points to climb from Bronze to Diamond tier and unlock exclusive rewards.
Expiry Notifications — Nouri alerts you before food goes bad so you always know what to use first and never waste forgotten items.
Recipe Recommendations — Get AI-powered recipe suggestions based on what's in your pantry, especially items nearing expiry.
Wellness Tracking — Log daily meals, track calories across meal types, and visualize your 7-day nutrition trend.
Social Profile — Showcase your tier, impact stats, and meal posts while following others in a community built around sustainable living.
