Inspiration

Mods doesn't have a real communication with members of subreddit , Announcements and Their messages get lost after some time , Mod Team need to draft a whole month into one post and can't give quick announcement updates

What it does

It creates a Announcement Hub for Mods , where they can push notices , Give latest updates immediately , Giving Mods the power to communicate better with their members . It can be used alternative to Reddit Live as well where mods can give real-time updates on a situation or event.

How we built it

Built with Devvit and React , Built this after taking feedback from more than 15 Mods of busy subreddits who have faced challenges on communicating more with their subreddit family

Challenges we ran into

Layout Issues were there in start , Needed to design it in a way which is direct and simple . Mods won't have to make many things , Everything will be simple to use for both sides , mods and subreddit members . Adding a History created chaos in management , Overflowing Paragraphs manual testing of different type of Titles , to review where it is having error or breaking layout design , checks for Devvit No Scroll rule was giving more and more challenges .

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I have made something very simple and useful and I hope it bring Mods and Members of Subreddits more closer , Helping them communicate better and giving more strong relation between mods and members.

What we learned

I have learned that every mod behind the screen really wants to connect members more , getting more feedback from them , Every Mod i talked with was very invested in their community and Their Members are also looking for a way to bridge down the gap between Mod and themselves. I hope we can contribute to that more in any way .

What's next for Notice Board

Next for Notice Board is to add system for Mods to customize the look of Notice Board , Although it have 10 Themes , Giving Mods full power over its visuals. Adding Comments/Reactions from Members of subreddit to show their agreement or disagreement with Mod team with Emojis
