Our hack on the IBM Watson
At our school, we are assigned various texts ranging from AP Government textbook chapters to biology lab reports. Who has time for those when you could be exploring artificial intelligence and data science? With this app
What it does
This app will take in a picture of a text and will summarize the content and output to a PDF, making it concise and readable.
How we built it
We used a flask server to run an IOS app. Most of the processing and conversions happened in python.
Challenges we ran into
Everything. In particular, meshing together all of the parts into a coherent product and working with incompatible modules.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making the core concepts and codes by the end of the first day and having extra time to spare. We also made an IOS app for the first time. Also our hack is pretty cool and we can use it for a long time.
What we learned
We learned how to build IOS apps and how to do natural language processing.
What's next for Noteworthy
In a future implementation, we might increase abilities of the app and offer more options, but we anticipate to be using this for a very long time.
