What it does: Notes for Friends connects people via chat. Users can make a profile, sign in, and chat with one another about their interests.
How I built it: Notes for Friends is a full-stack application built with Node.js, Express, React, Redux, and Sequelize. We also utilized bootstrap to help aid with front-end styling, and vanilla JS to tie in some fun add-on functionality.
Challenges: The disappearance of a team member, learning many things in a short amount of time.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of: Being part of such a wonderful project and having collaborated for my first time with other (wonderful) people on a code.
What I learned: How to use Figma, different commands on the Terminal, Git, how to create different functions in JavaScript, how sockets are used, how to push into/pull things from a repository, how to use APIs, hosting apps, etc., etc.
What's next for Notes for Friends: Switching between channels, displaying more personalized views, activating the text-to-speech, speech-to-text conversion.
