Inspiration
We're busy students living even busier lives and especially now that school is all online, we’re having trouble staying on top of our notes for school. Many times our desk is very messy and we’re not great organizers either. So, we decided to create NoteMaster, a way for students to digitize their notes and make sure they’re organized at the same time.
What it does
This app primarily focuses on managing students’ written work. Users can take a picture of their work, and assign it to a category within NoteMaster. The camera scan will detect keywords and if the user later on needs help with anything, they can search through keywords on the app, and the app will take the user to the notes that can possibly help.
How we built it
We built this app using the React Native framework.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the biggest challenges that we ran into were implementing the camera function and making sure it would work reliably. Moreover, implementing the task bar was a struggle.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This tremendous app created in less than 36 hours has allowed us to push our front-end and back-end developing to the max.
What we learned
We’ve learned that as a team, under time constraints, many unique ideas and solutions to coding errors can be presented. High school students have the potential to create apps which can possibly change the world.
What's next for NoteMaster
We are hoping to continue NoteMaster after this hackathon because we feel that the mission that we are trying to accomplish will help students worldwide.
