Inspiration
We noticed that students often struggled with note-taking during lectures, especially when trying to jot down complex concepts or when lectures moved too quickly. We wanted to create a tool specifically designed to help students capture the essence of their lessons without missing out on important details.
What it does
Noted listens to what you're saying and turns it into clear, organized notes. It's like having a personal assistant who writes everything essential for you.
How we built it
We integrated Whisper for voice recognition and combined it with algorithms identifying and organizing main points. The front end was built using React, and the back end was powered by Node.js and Express.js. Figma helped us design the user interface, and OpenAI provided additional support for understanding the context.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring Whisper accurately captures and translates voice to text was a challenge. Differentiating between main points and additional details was another hurdle. Integrating all these technologies seamlessly was also a task.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The accuracy and context-awareness of Noted stand out. Instead of just transcribing words, it grasps the essence and creates structured summaries, which was a significant achievement.
What we learned
We gained insights into voice technology, language processing, and the importance of design in user experience. The synergy between React, Node.js, Express.js, and OpenAI was a valuable lesson in integrated tech development.
What's next for Noted.
Expanding language support is on the cards. We're also eyeing integrations with other productivity tools. A feature allowing real-time feedback during conversations is also in the pipeline, enabling users to instantly add depth to their notes.
