Inspiration

I had a problem that to look at my grades online I had to go to the browser of either my phone or my PC. This was very annoying since my login never got saved, it took long time to load, and the design was not user-friendly.

What it does

It gets information from a school portal called MiStar and transfers it into my application. Then it displays in a nice way for students to easier see and analyze the main information.

How I built it

I used Java with Json API. I used Android Studio as my IDE.

Challenges I ran into

I had a big problem logging in because the website was using Javascript and Json was not very responsive to that at first.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of the fact it actually works, the fact I can pull out any Android, download the application from Play Market, and see grades.

What I learned

I learned a lot about Android, design, and Java in general. The most important is that I learned how to find information I need, teach it to myself. Also, I learned how to manage my time wisely so the development doesn't affect my grade but also I don't forget about it.

What's next for Notas

I plan to integrate a portal called Schoology in addition to MiStar.
