Inspiration

I just randomly got the idea to create a social media platform where you could only make posts to yourself.

What it does

It is basically just a interestingly designed chat room with only you and some bots. If you try the https://not-very-social-media.mikew3.repl.co link, you will see the AssistanceBOT sends you immediate guidance. Here's an excerpt:

You may notice that the font (and background color) is oscillating. This is due to the fact that I just now discovered that you can animate fonts, and I find this is rather funny.

You may wonder why anyone would use it since has all these annoying features that drive users away. The reason is because it will ensure the only users with the determination to use it often are the people loyal to the glorious principles behind how this site was designed.

How I built it

I built it using HTML, CSS and JS. Since I was working solo, getting the entire project done quickly was very difficult.

Challenges I ran into

Since the number of features was very limited, the bugs were of the solvable type. There were issues every step of the way. There were issues with the messages, with the bots, even the CSS.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The whole thing, even the user interface (apparently even fonts can be animated).

What I learned

I learned stuff such as how to add html nodes inside a div element.

What's next for Not-Very-Social Media

More BOTS!!! Maybe more features too.
